As a CEO myself, I will attest to the excellent inspiration that this book relays to the executive. The chapters are short and to-the-point.
I recommend keeping it in your desk and reading a chapter a week to develop more insight into the leadership technique that worked for God.
As I learned from reading the text, I realized the wisdom of Christ provides simple lessons in interacting with and leading people that are timeless in nature.
This book could change the nature of our corporations and World if it were required reading for business leaders. It is important to communicate with our boss, Jesus, through prayer, and constantly ask for his guidance in our actions. He will makes us stronger and able leaders.

Thought-provoking arguments challenge readers to rethink their attitudes and use their God-given resources in ways that will have an eternal impact. This book is an overview of the Crown Financial Ministries study that facilitates the implementation of financial biblical principles in churches.
If you are able to participate in a Crown small group in your local area, I would highly recommend the 12 week study. The book promotes a balanced biblical view of becoming a faithful steward in the areas of spending, saving, giving, investing, seeking counsel, working, avoiding debt, honesty and teaching children.
For anyone that is interested in becoming more faithful to God with their money, and would like to experience the peace and joy that comes from learning contentment, I would highly recommend this book.

In The Eternity Portfolio, Alan Gotthardt succeeds in combining a visionary and inspiring approach to giving with a practical step-by-step guide. This is a must-read book for people who are serious about their financial stewardship and donations.
Gotthardt's main theme is that our offerings to God are similar to our earthly investments, only with an infinitely better pay-off. We might earn 5% annually on a CD, or maybe 8% on average in the stock market, but the treasures we store up in Heaven have a much better rate of return.
First he lays a framework for planning and giving, putting it into a context of Godly values. He makes the case for investing as a strategic process, involving discipline and planning tools. One part involves investing in (and providing for) one's family and the other involves investing in others (giving). When one has identified how much is enough for the family, this opens up the possibility of exponential increases in giving after basic needs savings goals are met.
Next the book turns to practical steps to budget spending and to plan for retirement. This is followed by a chapter on allocating your giving among different `investments.' Estate planning is also covered, again with an emphasis on eternal rewards that provide much better returns than an earthly portfolio.
This book had a transformational impact in our personal household giving as we embraced and set up an Eternity Portfolio.
-- Who wants to know why their giving doesn't work?
-- Why, when you give, is the joy not there?
-- Why, when the pastor does a series on giving at the beginning of the year is there a feeling that the church is trying to get into your wallet?
-- If we think about tithing, why is there endless debate on gross versus net?
-- Why, if we are trying to make prosperity giving work, do we feel fear that if we give, God won't give back in a large enough measure?
Dr. Alcorn deals with these questions and more in this delightful little book. This is a book for those who really want to understand God's perspective on giving. It is not "give and I'll bless you back," though He does say that He loves cheerful givers. It is not about the amount or percentage that we give. It is not about when or where we give. It is about our hearts and giving.
Are you willing to explore the thought, "Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt, nor thieves break through and steal"? The Treasure Principle drills down on this thought and other key verses that help the reader understand that God is concerned about what our focus and perspective are, not on how much money we give. He is concerned about where our hearts are--compared to where they should be--not where our pocketbook is. He is concerned about the treasures we are collecting--and where we are storing them.
I have personally experienced The Treasure Principle at work in my life and the lives of others.
God has given each of us the opportunity to partner with him in the greatest work of all: kingdom work. As stewards of his resources, we have a choice. We can sow the seed or we can lock it away out of fear.
Even though we know we should give a portion of our income to God, fear often stands in the way of generosity. And when we let it, this fear has the potential to rob us of an intimate relationship with God. Worse yet, fear can cause us to handle our finances in a way that locks him out completely.
But when we give God what is rightfully his, we acknowledge his power and greatness, opening ourselves up to limitless joy and peace that comes from trusting him.
In Fields of Gold, author Andy Stanley shows us that those who sow generously can expect to reap generously and receive a bountiful return.
When we open our hands and plant our seed, the rewards are guaranteed: Fields of gold--in this life, as well as the life to come.
The book is a series of parables about money written in the 1920s by George Clason. They were written as individual essays of a few thousand words, but the theme throughout them is consistent -- save 10% of your money, give 10% away, use 10% to reduce your debt load, and live on the remaining 70%.
The stories in the book are entertaining; they are reminiscent of some of the parables in the Bible, such as the Prodigal Son or the story of the Workers in the Vineyard.
I think this is intentional on the part of the author; certainly readers in the 1920s had an appreciation for "old fashioned stories with a moral" that people today seem to have lost.
I enjoyed the reading and found it interesting, especially if you are trying to get your finances in order.
Is it true that by simply changing your thoughts you can completely change what you have in life? How could it be that simple? It is, but first you have to believe.
Most people want to see something happen, then believe in it. To be succesful you have to do the opposite. Believe in it first, then you will see it. That's is one of the key messages in this book written almost 70 years ago.... It reads like it was written yesterday.
The title says it all. "Think and Grow Rich", but it is NOT just a book about making money. I am certain many people from all walks of life could benefit from this work, regardless of their opinion of money and riches. The message is clear: You may have whatever you want in life... if you can discover the secret within its pages.
Get this book and see if you can unlock the Secret to finding 'riches' for yourself.
